2026 The Color Show: Warm or Cool call for entries

September 08 2026

AUBURN, Ala. —The Auburn Arts Association is calling for local artists to enter The Color Show: Warm or Cool at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center. The exhibition will be on view from Sept. 17-Oct. 24.

Area professional, student and amateur artists and craftpersons 18 years of age and older are invited to submit two works based on color palette from either a range of warm colors (red, yellow, orange) or those classified as cool colors (blue, green, purple) with the intentions of creating a harmonious look.

Various tints, tones, and shades of the selected warm or cool palette may be used. Works may be two or three dimensional. Subject matter, art medium, and technique are open.

All work must be wired and framed (no glass!) either with or without Plexiglass. All free-hanging wall pieces must have appropriate hanging means (wires, rods, hooks, etc.).

Labels attached to the work should include name, address, phone, email, title, and price if for sale. Entries are due Friday, Sept. 11.

The Auburn Arts Association (AAA) invites the community to join us at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC) for The Color Show: Warm or Cool reception on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to meet the artists and view the exhibition.
